STAR Soccer Club was created in the spring of 2003 by combining the operations of three soccer clubs: Finneytown Soccer Club, Winton United, and Wyoming Soccer Club. STAR SC now offers a full range of opportunities for youth soccer players in the Springfield Township Area of Hamilton County. This includes the communities of Wyoming, Finneytown, Greenhills, Forest Park, Woodlawn, Springdale, Glendale, College Hill, North College Hill, Mt. Healthy, Saint Bernard and more.
STAR Soccer Club is a member of Ohio South Youth Soccer Association and most teams compete within the Greater Cincinnati Soccer League (GCSL.) Our more competitive teams seek even more challenging competition through participation in Ohio South State League, Buckeye Premier Youth Soccer League, Cardinal Premier League and The Premier League of GCSL.
Under the leadership of our professional staff, STAR Soccer Club’s focus is on individual player development with an emphasis on long term vision versus short term goals which will help foster a lifelong love for the beautiful game. Rostering players at their age group (8U-15U), we aim to appropriately challenge each individual at the club and provide an environment which allows them to grow both technically and tactically, while playing at the appropriate level of competition.
Utilizing our club core values and Team Captain Incentive during training sessions and games, we hope to develop; integrity, teamwork, respect, character, sportsmanship and leadership in each of our players from our Rising STAR Academy through our eldest players in the club.
STAR Soccer Club is a family friendly club and we care about the entire family and not the player/s playing in the club. To do this we have to provide programming, resources, and activities that allow families to engage with us and we will communicate clearly with families and give them responsibility to be involved with the club.
STAR Soccer Club always puts the player first. We place the highest priority on our players and their development over anything else when making decisions. We know that decisions we make today will have an impact immediately and in future seasons, so we strive to make decisions that are ethically sound and player focused. The leadership of STAR Soccer Club will endeavor to display the highest integrity and accountability when making decisions and will not sacrifice the long term health and welfare of players for short term rewards. We treat all players with respect, dignity, compassion, grace, and more importantly honesty. No coach is to put his or her own success above the player, team or club. No official in our club is to put the welfare or success of the club over the player, our players are always the number one priority.
As a club, we understand that our coaches are the people who have the biggest impact on our players. We are committed to the continued development, education and support of our coaches in order to provide our players the best experience possible at both training and games. We ask that coaches are eager and willing to learn and support each other and the goals of the club.
Where is STAR Soccer Club?
STAR Soccer Club operates primarily in the Winton Road corridor from I-275 south to North Bend Rd. We have usage agreements with the city of Forest Park, Springfield Township, Winton Woods School District, Roger Bacon High School and Wyoming High School. These agreements allow us access to a large number of facilities for both games and training. STAR SC’s access to several turf facilities provides us some of the best training and game options in the area.
